Shon Hsu
CSCS, MFPP, HBSc
Shon is a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and sports scientist that focuses on facilitating efficient movement strategies - specifically change of direction ability. He uses a data-driven and evidence-informed approach to understanding athletes' movement analysis, in doing so, help athletes develop and optimize performance.

Dan Villaluz
PTS, BASc.
Dan is a performance coach and sport scientist that aims to create a conducive training environment for growth and development. Dan believes this is a collaborative process, where his role entails helping athletes manage pain and perform better. He has experience working with athletes from diverse sporting backgrounds and hopes to continue expanding his depth of knowledge. Dan has completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and believes that learning is a lifelong commitment believing each experience in life teaches you something. He is happy and excited to be part of the MoveFit Lab team!

Ariel Zhu
HBSc, MSc, CSCS
Ariel is a Kinesiology and Health Promotion student at Sheridan College with a background in Nutritional Science and Human Biology from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Analytics. She is a competitive amateur boxer and certified Boxing Ontario Level 1 Coach, with experience coaching both youth and adult athletes. At MoveFit Lab, Ariel combines her passion for performance training and data-driven coaching to support athlete development and contribute to the team.

David Zhao
CFSC, RK, MFPP
David graduated from University of Toronto with a kinesiology degree, acquiring good experience of personal training and working with athletes. He is experienced with training teenage athletes and succeeded in helping athletes achieve their performance goals. During the one-year internship as an athletic therapist with the Varsity Blue Football team, he encountered various injuries in sport settings and dealt with experience and knowledge. He also practiced taping skills that can help prevent injuries across different body parts and enhance athletes' performances. David also worked in the physiotherapy clinic for years and he is familiar with movement assessment and rehabilitation treatment.

David Sutton
MKin, CSEP CEP, CSEP High Performance Specialist
David is a performance coach with a background in performance testing and athletic development. He is exceptionally skilled at improving athletes’ speed, jump height, and change of direction ability.

David has a BSc of Kinesiology from the University of Windsor and a Masters of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. He had the opportunity to work as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at each university. And this has given him extensive experience working with athletes from a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, and soccer.

He most recently worked at a rehabilitation clinic as a strength and conditioning coach. There he used technology to identify client’s strength and/or asymmetry deficits and designed individualized programs to redevelop their athleticism and prepare them to return to sport.
David’s past experiences have helped him develop the knowledge and understanding to work with clients across the training spectrum, from long-term rehab to high level performance. And he’s excited to use his expertise to help the clients at Movefit Lab achieve their goals.

Deanna Barrett
BA
Deanna-Kaye Barrett is a University of Western Ontario graduate with a degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences. She is strongly interested in sports performance assessments and aims to help athletes achieve their physical and career goals through physical fitness. During her 4th year at university, Deanna-Kaye completed her practicum experience with the Western Mustangs Women’s Basketball and Rugby teams as one of their Strength and Conditioning coaches and is presently working with various high schools as a sports medic. Deanna-Kaye also has been teaching swimming for the past 7 years, helping individuals improve their skills for both recreational and competitive swimming. She is persuing of her Registered Kinesiologist license with the College of Kinesiology of Ontario and plans to take her Strength and Conditioning Coach certification in the future. She believes that having a good mentor can facilitate good performance and works hard to do her best for the clientele at Movefit Lab.

Hamza Saajidh
BA, CPT, ISSA-SCC
Hamza is a Sport Performance Coach at Movefit Lab and a Kinesiology student at York University. As a varsity baseball athlete with York University and Wilfrid Laurier University, and with over 15 years of elite play with the Scarborough Stingers, he has developed a deep understanding of rotational power, speed, and on-field movement efficiency.
His athletic background is complemented by hands-on coaching experience. Hamza has coached youth baseball in the Markham community and is a black belt in karate, where teaching athletes of all ages strengthened his ability to break down movement, build coordination, and teach discipline-driven training habits.
As an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), he applies sport science principles to strength and conditioning, performance testing, and individualized training design. At Movefit Lab, he supports combine assessments, data-driven performance evaluations, and athlete development strategies. Hamza’s goals are to take his CSCS certification upon graduation and then pursue a career in the chiropractic field.

Ian Warner Sr.
CPT, MFPP
As a former football, track, and bodybuilding athlete, Ian turned his love of sport into a successful coaching career. His early experience involved coaching football at the high school and club levels. Over 30 years in, Ian can apply coaching principles and his philosophy to guiding athletes from various backgrounds, focusing on speed and power sports, using what he has learned from mentors in the Track and field space.

Jaye Pan
CSCS
Jaye is a Strength and Conditioning Coach with a background in varsity sports and youth athlete development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education from the University of Toronto, along with a diploma in Fitness & Health Promotion from Humber College. Jaye has experience coaching both collegiate and youth athletes, with a focus on performance enhancement and movement quality.

As a rugby and basketball athlete herself, Jaye brings first-hand athletic experience to her coaching practice. Her training philosophy centers on improving performance while reducing injury risk, guided by Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles. She is currently pursuing her CSCS certification and specializes in functional training, basketball, rugby, and youth athletic development.

Samantha Bjelis
BSc, ~MSc. CPT.
Samantha is a performance coach and sport scientist.
She has a Bachelor of Science in the Kinesiology honours co-op program from University of Waterloo, and is currently completing her Master of Science focused in neuroscience. She is educated in movement rehab and nutrition. She is currently preparing for the CSCS and CPSS certifications.
Aside from being an athlete and gen pop coach for the last 6 years, she has also worked extensively in collaborative research which helped her understand how to best use current evidence and data to inform training. She specializes in cognitive performance training using technology guided by sport specific KPIs. She also uses lifestyle factors along with collaborative feedback from practitioners to improve performance in sport, gym and life.
She has a diverse set of skills and experiences working with a variety of amateur, semi-pro and pro athletes, as well as gen pop. So, she is excited to work with the populations at Movefit Lab!

Shane Sheng

Shane is a National First-Class Basketball Athlete with over five years of international coaching experience. With a background in Kinesiology from York University, she combines elite-level playing experience with a proven track record in youth and team development across both China and Canada. Her coaching approach integrates sports science principles with a deep understanding of athlete development, making her a valuable asset in competitive and grassroots basketball programs.

Victor Low
CPT, BRM, FST
Victor began his fitness career in the commercial gym setting, working with the general public. However, his passion for performance and sports science led him to pursue dedicated studies in these fields. Using his own body as a test subject, Victor explored and applied advanced training techniques, allowing him to gain a deeper and more in-depth understanding of performance optimization.

Through his personal experience, Victor unlocked his true calling in the performance and sports science realm. This realization motivated him to shift his focus from general fitness to a more data-driven, goal-oriented approach. His journey has led him to Movefit Lab, where he intends to leverage his past experience working with a broad clientele and focus on achieving measurable, high-performance results for athletes and goal-focused individuals.

Joey De Leon
RMT
Joey is a Registered Massage Therapist with over 9 years of experience in clinical and athletic settings, focused on enhancing wellness, recovery, and performance. He has worked closely with a range of healthcare and performance professionals.

Rooted in structural integration, Joey’s approach views posture and movement as interconnected systems. He uses fascial‑line based assessment, manual therapy, and trigger point techniques to rebalance the body, improve movement efficiency, and guide clients from recovery back to performance. Whether working with athletes or anyone looking to feel and move better, he tailors care to help clients perform at their best.

Shejza Mino

Dr. Shejza Mino is an evidence-based chiropractor, neurofunctional electro-acupuncture practitioner & a Champion Performance Specialist. Her clinical practice focuses on sport injury management, rehabilitation protocols for safe return-to-play, as well as performance therapy for athletic optimization.

Esther Chen
MSOCSCI (COMMUNICATION)
Esther is a Marketing and Communications Specialist with international experience in health and wellness promotion. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Science (Communication) from the National University of Singapore, with dual specializations in Global Media Communication and Strategic Communication. Esther has led marketing and program development in both Hong Kong and Singapore, including the creation of a long-term wellness initiative that impacted over 1,000 participants.

With a strong interest in wellness education and brand storytelling, Esther brings a strategic and community-centered approach to her work at Movefit Lab. Her focus lies in connecting people to movement, performance, and well-being through thoughtful campaigns and content.

Meryl Yeung
BA
Meryl is a Media Arts graduate specializing in cinema and visual storytelling. She completed her work placement at Movefit Lab, where she now works as part of the team. Her practice explores the intersection of film, digital media, and contemporary visual culture, focusing on creating visually compelling and emotionally engaging content.
With experience in video production, editing, and visual design, Meryl is developing a strong interest in narrative and aesthetic direction. Her work captures everyday moments and transforms them into meaningful visual stories. She is particularly drawn to short-form and experimental content, and continues to grow her creative voice through collaborative projects.
